Was a pleasure taking part in this event for Féile an Phobail today, the community festival itself in its thirty-fifth year. The event involved a a public interview with Mairéad Farrell, Sinn Féin TD for Galway West. Mairéad was interviewing me on my biography, ‘Liam Lynch: To Declare a Republic’ and I took questions from the audience after.
Thought provoking discussion on Liam Lynch with @gerry_shannon yesterday.
This book by @MerrionPress is well worth a read, full of information, funny anecdotes and an enjoyable read.@FeileBelfast pic.twitter.com/dAKbgidoBH

The event took place at St. Mary’s University on the Falls Road in West Belfast. Not for the first time, I found such an audience in Belfast attentive and engaged when asking me on matters related to Liam Lynch, the Civil War and republicanism of that era. Definitely one of the most enjoyable crowds I’ve had at any event related to the book this year.

My thanks again to Mairéad for being a well-informed interviewer and chairing the questions and answer session after.
