Speaking at the UCC Irish Civil War Conference on 17th June 2022. Photograph by John Foley.
I am deeply grateful for the organisers of the UCC Irish Civil War National Conference for giving me an opportunity to speak about Liam Lynch at the event this week, ahead of my book coming out next year. The conference itself, taking place from the 15th to 18th June 2022, is a cornerstone of the Irish government’s Decade of Centenaries programme, and boasted an extraordinary array of scholars and events. The full programme and many of the talks/panels can be viewed here.
My talk was entitled ‘Our national policy is to maintain the established Republic’: Liam Lynch’s political and military strategies during the Irish Civil War’ and I spoke on Friday, 17th June 2022. My own talk can be viewed below or by clicking on the link here.
My thanks to John Foley for the photograph below, with Cormac O’Malley (son of Ernie O’Malley) and Dolores Lyne (grand-niece of Liam Lynch).
